Everyday Rather Live in Classic Eras

Ludovico Einaudi’s In a Time Lapse, and his musical inspiration

The  Italianpianist and Alt-Classical musician has been described as minimalist, classical, ambient, and contemporary the welcome sound of stillness in a hectic world. The new album In a Time Lapse was released on January 21, 2013, with US and Canadian supporting tours, that broke the mould when it sold more digital copies than physical.

“I like to listen to different music, not focused on something that is in one box,” he said. “Once there’s something good and inspiring to me, it can come from everywhere – folk music, electronic music, classical music. I grew up like that.” Einaudi said.

Ludovico Einaudi’s album In A Time Lapse was composed over a period of two years and recorded in October 2012 in a monastery near Verona. The album on Ponderosa label features Einaudi’s band and the string orchestra I Virtuosi Italiani. Violinist Daniel Hope appears on several pieces, including Orbits, where the solo violin climbs the sky towards infinity.
