Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 9  was written between 1908 and 1909, and was the last symphony among Mahler’s most profound works . The Ninth Symphony has been recorded over a hundred times for commercial release on 78-rpm discs, LP, CD, or DVD.

Venezuelan  young conductor Gustavo Adolfo Dudamel  (born January 26, 1981)  now is the music director of the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, also the honorary conductor of the Gothenburg Symphony in Gothenburg. This is Gustavo Dudamels first CD with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, recorded live at LAs famed Disney Concert Hall as part of their epic 2012 Mahler Project. Dudamel’s  live Mahler 9th is powerful and sublimemay, may join the pantheon of great Mahler Ninths such as Bernstein, Karajan, Giulini, Solti/L.S.O., Levine, Walter, Klemperer, etc.
