Congratulations on Spring Festival

Spring Morning in the Han Palace (漢宮春曉图)

By Qiu Ying (chinese仇英, 1494-1552), Ming Dynasty in China

30.6 x 574.1 cm hand-scroll painting, ink, and colors on silk, a collection of National Palace Museum, Taipei

This long hand-scroll painting is an image of imperial life in a Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), a sort of activities on a fine spring morning in the palace, such as playing the zither or chess, working on calligraphy and painting, appreciating antiquities and flowers.
