British soprano Dame Felicity Lott wins ISM’s award

The award ‘Distinguished Musician’, which recognises outstanding contributions to musical life in the UK, has previously gone to conductor Antonio Pappano, cellist Jacqueline du Pré, conductor Simon Rattle, percussionist Evelyn Glennie and composer Michael Tippett.

Dame Felicity has performed with many of the world’s top orchestras and conductors, including Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, Zubin Mehta and André Previn.

She has recorded music by composers including Schubert, Britten, Schumann, Poulenc and Fauré – as well as Mozart and Richard Strauss.
